Effective Nonverbal Communication
2-hour Interactive Lecture or One-day Worksop
This dynamic workshop will help improve the way you communicate by focusing on the nonverbal aspects of communication as you deliver a presentation or make a speech. Nonverbal communication can reinforce what you say, but when not used effectively it can weaken your message. The workshop will focus on the techniques of expression, including gestures, body movements, positions and postures, the voice, breathing techniques, sustaining eye contact, the use of silence, and others, with an emphasis on consistency between verbal and nonverbal communication. We will also examine how nonverbal communication can be used as a tool to influence others in difficult contexts (such as lecturing to an unsettled group) and to optimize the impact of your message in stressful settings (such as job interviews and business negotiations). The workshop will include short video recordings of each student.
