Improve Your Self-Confidence & Presence with the Art of Mime
Five 2-hour sessions, weekly or bi-weekly
Many people are terrified by (the thought of) public speaking and are very self-conscious about how an audience perceives them. This workshop will use mime techniques from the Marcel Marceau School as well as from Etienne Decroux’ teaching to help participants build a story. It is storytelling without words.
Performing short skits in front of the class will make students more comfortable with the movements of their own body, will help them overcome shyness and fear to better master storytelling.
Jeff, also known as BiLi the Mime – his stage name, became a professional mime in 1977 after learning from a disciple of Marcel Marceau the very own mime techniques of the Master for a period of two years. In 2016, Jeff took a full immersion workshop at the Ecole Internationale de Mime Corporel et Dramatique in Paris, on Etienne Decroux’ mime techniques. Marcel Marceau was a student of Etienne Decroux.
